how many lights

I am closing in a part of my shed for a work/hobby shop, just trying to figure out how many lights i should install, and what types. rough dementions are 14' x 18' two doors one on one of the long walls and the other on the short outside wall, and i just decided that i will install a few out side lights for the back yard.

rafters are 7'10" from the floor, going with 1/2" dry wall.
going with a 60-100 amp sub panel with a correct wire for the main braker in the subpanel. looking at a total of 36 outlets on 4-5 circuts 20 amp brakers for the circuts, so yeah look at it that way 100 amp.
hobbies will be what ever has my intrest, so yeah task light florsecents under the cabinets,
Yeah looking at over kill, way over kill..... hmmmmm might need help with that too. :)

You should get an A+ on over kill in the outlet department .

For lighting , so much is dependent on the color of the interior finish and the equipment in the room it's really difficult to judge at an early stage . Some folks say they want a lot of windows and I've found that to be mostly in error for shop work . The light needs to be from the top down and not glaring into the eyes from a window .

I get amused at the ladies trendy decor changes to keep up with the trends .

Example: the room was a light color with light furniture and then the trend changed to dark cabinets , walls and furnitureetc . The next statement we hear is " I think we need more lights " . Well , DUH , no kidding . To the tune of about a thousand more watts in that room .

Enjoy your new shop .

looking at a light blue on the walls, this is my shop/ man cave so what i say goes. yeah we shall see how long that lasts. just one window north face in to the back yard of the house. thinking about putting in double door with glass windows so that i can view the area where we are going to put the above ground pool at some point.

Red....click on the link in my signature "Garage Build".....I have 16 6" recessed cans with CFL's in a 20x25 area.....

Since you have a low ceiling....cans might work well so that you don't take out a tube with a 2x4. What I like about the cans is that I have lots of flexibility with color and wattage....and those cans fit in places T8's will not.

I was thinking cans as well I can get a six pack for under 50
