how many in 1 whole ?


i have a long wall in one room. i want to cut the room in half electrically . i am running 14-2. can i run 2 14-2, or more, through 1 whole drilled through each stud ? i don't know what the bundling limit is for this.

how many in 1 whole ?


There is a limit on the amount of wires in one hole but I do not know what it is.
There is a post on here that touches on that subject.
Something about " bundling ".

I don't know what the code limit is, but I never run more than two cables through a hole.

More than (2) 14/2's requires derating. The problem isn't until there are more than (4) ?/2 cables or (4) ?/3 cables because the derating factor drops to 50% above (9) current carrying conductors. Also, insulation and foam are factors as well.
