I drilled 7/8 holes in center of top plate as close as I could to center. Some may be off a little. I left about 2 feet hanging out of the sub panel.

Is this going to stay unfinished living space

k_buz 04-16-2013 06:10 AM

It's done all the time, but I really hate metal staples on NM.

Why is that?

jbfan 04-16-2013 06:12 AM

3rd picture down, is that a yellow and white cable in the same box?

The line is too fine between secured and damaging the cable. It's too easy to damage the sheath. I know, I know, we don't have to start debating.:whistling2:

It will stay unfinished and it shouldn't be a yellow and a white if I remember correctly

Personally, my cables would be placed on the bottom chord of the trusses rather than on running boards.

That's not a code issue though right? Do you know what I will need as far as gfci and afci? It's just a shop in the backyard. No plumbing or water.

No water or plumbing? Then its not a shop just a structure.

And if you do not have a fridge of beer it is not even a structure, it is a prison.

Looks good though.

Any reason why the boxes were not set so they stick out past the rafter?
At some point someones may well want to add a ceiling to make it eazyer to heat or cool and all the boxes would have to be set.
Also how do you plan on getting covers on them sitting like that.

Gfci's for the receptacles and afci's not required.
