Spend enough time in the electrical forum and you'll see that when the pros think someone is biting off more than they can chew, they tell them and stop helping. It is my opinion that this forum is a perfect resource for people to tap a very wide knowledge base and undertake projects that would otherwise be way out of their league. We encourage DIY here right up until someone demonstrates or communicates an inability to handle the project at hand.

Stubbie, I found it interesting that the website with this "how to" removed our comments warning people about the unsafe nature of the subpanel's wiring.

Neither of us was out of line or rude in any way. Somebody over there should be ashamed that they'd negligently remove those comments. I left more comments, but we'll see how long they last.

I can't even pull up the subpanel wiring article on the how-to site. It shows up at the top of the page, but when you click on the link it just brings you to the main page and doesn't go anywhere.

Maybe they realized it was in their best interest and everyone elses for that matter to remove it. Hopefully they had an electrition look at the article and he told them to scrap it.

As of earlier today it was there, but I looked tonight and it is gone. Perhaps they read the second message I posted about the pictures...

I'm glad they took the article away...it really was a poor installation. Things don't always have to be pretty to do the job but that install was just horrendous.
