If the compressor is running but no cooling is the fan running inside the fridge? There is 2 pipes coming off compressor one should be hot the other cool to the touch when running. there is only a few ounces of refer in a fridge so there should not be alot of noise

Hi qbert, yes fan is running. Had a service tech take a look at refrig and he said the compressor is shot. Still don't understand why there is NOTHING no cooling, no frost, no hot pipes. Compressor motor IS running but no compressing at all?? I find that really hard to believe. I would believe that there is no freon before I would believe the compressor develops no pressure at all. Guess it is possible and at a price tag of $1,100 to replace compressor I'm thinking I'm not about to find out. Put that money towards a new unit. This one is a built in but it is 8 years old and not sure it makes sense to repair.

thanks everyone for your help
