household voltage drop

The outside receptacle on my front patio only reads 85 volts. The receptacle gets its power through a GFCI in the garage. The voltage in and out of the GFCI is 125. What is causing my voltage drop?

Loose wire, missing nutral. If the outlets are back stabed change them to under the screws.

Or you have a very large house and it is several hundred feet from your garage to your front porch, 14 guage wire, and a high amperage load on the circuit.

This wouldn't be your house by chance would it... :)

Did you measure that voltage under load ?
Low voltage can be caused by loose connections (most common)
Or even a faulty cable.
But I would check all the connections first !
Even a faulty recepticule !
