Hood fan and Lights.

Hi

Im trying to wire a hood fan, and three lights on the same circuit.

My electrician friend has moved away before i could finish my reno. there is one run of 14 2 running from the panel to the hood fan. i can move it to the switch first if thats better. i believe i need to run 14 3 from the lights to the switch but im not sure. other then the one run of 14 2 i havint run any wire yet. i would love it if someone could tell me hop to wire this properly.

Thanks

Your hood gets direct wired you don't use a wall switch for it. The hood has switches on it for the lights and for the fan.

Yes, i know it has switches on it..... im not worried about that. im asking how to wire the lights on the same circuit and have the switch turn on the lights (not the light on the hood fan). but not have the switch affect the hood fan/lights on the hood fan...

aka the switch is for the lights... not the hood fan. but they both need power.

I see sorry I should of looked at your diagram haha! Okay it's simple route the wire to the switch box and out of the switch box bring one 14/2 to the hood and one to the lights. Do you need to know how to wire it as well?

hahah i was wondering about your answer there.. so no 14 3 is needed at all that way.

so one 14 2 to the hood from the switch box. not connected to the switch. and one 14 2 going to the lights from the switch box. connected to the switch.

i believe i know how to wire it all in. but ill ask again if i cant get it. thanks a lot.

That is correct the wire going from the box to the hood is just being fed from the switch and your welcome

All the white wires are wire nutted tigether.

The black from the panel is connected a screw on the switch, and connected to the black wire going to the hood.

No. The black wire to the hood connects to the black wire from the panel.
