Home Depot not showing wire/cable online?

Good morning;
I wanted to check pricing on #6 copper ground conductor for my antenna installation. I am baffled at Home Depot not showing any electrical wiring (Romex, BX, etc) on their website. I am looking in both the regular site, and the contractor services site. There is no wire, except CATV, CAT5, speaker wire, and the like.

I am looking at "In Store" items, and "all items".

I can understand not showing prices, because they have been fluctuating lately, but not showing the product at all?

Anyone know what's up?

Thanks

FW

There are a ton of items that they do not list online for whatever reason

Haha, try going to menards site. They don't have anything online except their weekly ad. At least with Home Depot they have stuff you can look at online.

Call a real electrical supply house.

The price of copper changes every day. It's a commodity. Even when buying from the supply house the price can change daily. Your best bet is to call a couple vendors and see who has the best price. Then go there and pick up what you need.
Make sure you check the supply houses. They seem to have the best prices on wire most of the time, but not always. They also will cut to length depending on the size.

Yes, check supply houses and they will quote you a daily rate. HOWEVER, our local LOWES doesn't list their price for copper online because they sell it BELOW cost as a loss leader. My local electrical supply house actually recommended them to me (as a DIYer).

Leah, this is true for 14/2 and 12/2. It is ALWAYS on an end cap display. This is not necessarily true for any other wire. It's worth checking.

Speedy Petey is totally right and I totally forgot that the OP was looking at #6. How can I be expected to pay attention and type out my opinion too?
Good Catch.

Was that "ED" or "REX" who made that recommendation?

If you want, I will print a certificate that says Speedy Petey is 'always right'. But I'd be willing to bet your wife holds a "My-husband-it-full-of-sh*t" card and that trumps any fancy documents .

You've got that right. When I was looking for a short piece of SJ cord, the price was ridiculous. I decided to cut up an extension cord instead. Much less expensive.

As for the #6, I can use as small as #10 copper or #8 alum I think for the grounding conductor from my antenna mast.
I was looking for #6 because I thought it was the 'standard' for antenna ground conductor.
I won't use aluminum though. I've got copper everywhere else, so why mess with it.

#10 is the minimum. The bigger the better for GEC. I would use bare #6 min.

Ps....Make sure you connect to the house bonding/grounding system. You want the same potential at the mast.
