I have an exterior GFCI Outlet that is connected to the Breaker Box. The Breaker Box runs my main pool and spa pump, as well as the exterior lighting. THe outlet that runs the lighting in the bar area, which is just next to the problem outlet, works just fine. The GFCI Outlet that is causing the problems is the outlet that is also wired to the exterior pool lighting poles and the pool and spa lights. As soon as I reset the outlet, I try to turn the switch on, and it trips instantly, but does not trip the outlet running the bar area. I know that there is probably a simple cause for this, but it is extremely frustrating!! Can anyone help with this?

so many possibilities . If they've used the gfci to protect anything down the line then it could be a failed wire at one of the devices. I gather that the switch turns the gfci on as well as it's not tripping till the light switch is thrown. Or the switch is after the GFCI....in wich case this most certainly means youve got current going to ground somewhere down the line. If the gfci works fine with the switch off then it's most likely ok and i would start looking downstream from a problem. What a gfci does is monitor whats going out with whats comming back so if you've got a current leak somewhere due to moisture or a bad connection it will most certainly trip. Being as it turns on the light in your pool my first guess would be that you've got a bad seal in one of your underwater lights.
