HELP! Ceiling Light Wiring Question

1920's era house.

I had a ceiling light fixture operated by 2 switches. I needed to remove 1 switch and replace the light fixture. So I cleared everything out of the box except for the BX cable feeding power to the box.

What I have in the box now are 3 wires. A white, a black and a red that was previously unused.

I have 2 questions.

First - which wires to I attach to the new fixture (it has white, black and ground(green)

Second, which wires do I attach the old switch to?

HELP! Ceiling Light Wiring Question

What's in the other switch? How many wires attached to it, and how many wires are connected together and tucked in the back of the box?

HELP! Ceiling Light Wiring Question

None - everything is dissasmbled. The old box is even gone now (since it was part of the light fixture)

Right now I am just looking at a cable with 3 wires. The red was previously unused.

One switch is gone completely as I needed to remove it. The other switch is not connected to anything.

HELP! Ceiling Light Wiring Question

You may have removed the box that brought the power into the switches. Without knowing where the remaining cable goes or if it is hot it will be very difficult to give you any help.

HELP! Ceiling Light Wiring Question

Um - no... ALL I have left is the wire that powered the box. As I said... What I have in the box now are 3 wires. A white, a black and a red that was previously unused.

There is no power running to the remaining switch.
