I changed out all the light switches and outlets/plugs in my house but now the ones that use to control a light with a switch aren't working did I install the wrong switch or plug or just improper wiring i removed and reattached all wires for the same place hope someone can understand my description thanks mike
You may want to provide more information. Were they three way switches? How many wires? Are only the switches not working? It sounds like improper wiring. You have many knowledgeable guys in here that will be able to help out. Pics would also be very helpful. Did you connect all your white wires to all your silver colored screws and all black wires to all your copper colored screws? Do you have power in some or none at all? Thanks.

if you are talking about that the switch no longer controls an outlet... this is a split feed to the outlet. On the hot side (copper colored) you need to break the copper tab that connects the plate under these screws. This allows the one outlet of the duplex to be hot all the time and the other to be switched.
