Help

I have an ACME Electric Corporation Power Transformer Cat. # is T-1-81065, the Primary voltage is 240v X 480v. Secondary Voltage is 24v X 48v. If I have 277v in my panel how can I get 208v, 230v out of this transformer?

Help

It is true that transformers can sometimes be used for voltages that are not on the nameplate, it is not always a safe thing to do. It is best to consult the mfg.

In your case, even if this could be done, the ratio is wrong. Your transformer can be wired for either 10 to 1 or 20 to 1.

I didn't do the math, but 277 to 208 or 240, or even 480 to 208 or 277 is a different ratio.

i dont think you can it was designed for 240/480 to get 24/48 so the ratio of turns on the primary to secondary is 10 to 1 so you would get 27.7v. please if i am wrong some one correct me but until then i dont think that it is possible to do what you wanna do
