Height requirement for boiler shutoff switch

I am putting in an emergency boiler shutoff at the top of my basement stairs. Is there any code requirement or suggested height for this switch? Or just high enough where it is reachable by a short person, yet not in the way where you may accidentally shut it off?

Thanks.

I use 60". I have never seen an actual height requirement though.

High enough that it will not be bumped into. Place it at the highest point you can reach by extending your arm. If placing lower, you may want to put a cover on it, that it would not be turned off "accidentally".
