Hedge trimmer, cut through the wire (how can I fix it)

Ok guys, been around to my cousins new house today doing the hedges for her and took my moms hedge trimmers (my moms on hol) and about 3 mins after being told to watch I dont cut through the wire, what do I do? Got it!

I have been the the electrical shop and bought alittle plastic thing that reconects the wires (brown and blue) and put a new fuse in the plug, but still nothing.

Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

Thanks

What wire did you cut? Is it an electric hedge trimmer? If that is the wire you cut you should replace the whole cord.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes the electric cord. Is there no way I can repair the wire?

I strip both wires, twist them back together/solder them then tape the up so they can't short out
There may be an internal part that fried when it shorted

If it is the extension cord put a plug on both and have two short cords instead of one long one.
If it is the trimmer cord can you put a plug on the cut off end and have shorter cord?

And here I though he was from Boston because of his/her user-name.

QUICK STORY
WOW, you brought back memories When I was a kid my dad cut the hedges by hand with shears then he bought new electric shears and let me cut the hedges and kept saying don't cut the cord.
Well you know I cut it about the same time as you, man he was hot.
I think he just twisted the wires together and used cloth black tape.
It's a miracle nobody was killed. Repair the cords like #9 said.
