i turn my heater on and it will go on then it will shut off.i have central heat

Mine does that as well. The thermostat is doing its job in my case.

Are you telling us your system is not working properly? Or asking what to do about it?

You need to be a little more specific with some details here, I'm afraid.

I agree with KB. From this post there is nothing that gives us any clue about how to help you.

Type of system?
Gas? Electric? Oil? Air? Water? Air over water?
Details about what exactly happens.
