I was moving around some plugs behind my tv set and there was a spark at the plug and it knocked both hmdi jacks on my tv. can these be fixed? It's not under warranty

Questions for you.

Were you connecting something new or were you adjusting an existing connection?

Which plug (exactly) did the spark appear at?

Were you connecting something correctly or did you accidentally touch two things that normally do not go together?

Don't rule out a static charge. If it's enough to hurt it's enough to zap delicate electronics.

Yes, it was a powerstrip behind my tv and I was pushed the cords aside because my phone wasn't working. It then sparked at the plug as it was plugged in the the powersrip.

bad news....your tv could probably get fixed......but it'd likely be far far cheaper to buy a new one.....

Try unplugging all of the cords from the TV including the power cord (write down how they were connected so you can put them back).

Wait five minutes.

Reconnect everything,

Is it a flat panel display? Does it work with component cables? If so it may be like my Panasonic plasma and have add on or replaceable 'blade' cards for hmdi, audio, etc.
