I have florescent ceiling lights in my basement. The only replacement lights are plug-ins. Can I cut the plug off and use the wires to connect to the exsisting wires in the ceiling?

This can't be true. I'm sure there is something you can get to replace what you have.

To answer your question, no, you can't cut off the plug.

I have florescent fixtures in my basment. We actually have plug outlets in the ceiling joists. you could put outlets in the joists and when you need to replace the fixtures it would be easier. Just a thought. Maybe its more work than its worth!
