Hard wired smoke detectors randomly going off

gruvybuggy Newbie   Join Date: Jul 2012 Posts: 1	Hard wired smoke detectors randomly going off Our house was built in 1999 and has hardwired smoke detectors. They are brand new and go off randomly and seemingly at the most inconvenient times, (middle of the night, during the day when nobody is home but the animals). How should we address this issue?

austinbblock Newbie   Join Date: Jul 2012 Posts: 13	Hard wired smoke detectors randomly going off By brand new do you mean replaced since 1999? They may go off if they loose power for a slight second. How long have they been doing this?
