Hanging a chandelier on a 3.5" wide wood beam
I am looking to hang a chandelier on a 3.5" wide wood beam in my living room. I purchased a chandelier but noticed the canopy is 5" wide and would be too large for the 3.5" wide surface area of the beam. Currently, there is no electrical ran through the beam... yet.

I am looking for ways to install the chandelier, with a smaller sized canopy. If so, where can I get the parts for the canopy, necessary brackets, etc., to make this work?

If a smaller canopy is not an option, can people share any ideas on how to install this so that aesthetically it will work.

Thank you in advance!

See if you have a lamp shop near by---those stores usually have all sizes and shapes of bases--caps and covers.

The canopy is 5" because its likely designed to be hung from and octagon box which is roughly 4 inches wide. You plan on running through the wooden beam? Not sure on the rules in the u.s on backboxes and if you need them for lighting. I know a lot of places are allowing lights to be installed without backboxes now but I thinks that's only for wall applications not ceilings.
