Question

halogen lights fitted into a polystyrene ceiling - safe?

HI,

my parents have a polystyrene ceiling in their kitchen and have asked me to put up 50w halogen lights onto the tiles. Is this considered safe to do or not? I seemed to recall (rightly or wrongly) that you can't put them up if the tiles have been painted with oil based paints, but these ones have only ever had water based paints used on them, in which case would this be safe to do?

thanks

Jono
