Halo recessed can install Q

Okay, so I'm an idiot, I know this is simple.

I have these Halo 6" cans for new construction and they are easy to get up and wire. But how do you tighten the track to keep them from sliding. I thought there was supposed to be a screww to tighten on the supports, but nothing I can see. What do you do to keep them where you want?

Generally there is 1 screw on the track that you tighten.
Could be on either track.
No screw? Put the cans in desired pos. Then crimp the arms together to prevent them from moving.

I believe the screw circled with red is what sublime2 is referring to.

I found that screw only tightens one track, so I also crimp the fins that the tracks ride on.

Thanks guys, that makes sense. I tried to crimp them a bit earlier, but wanted to wait to see if I was way off base. I'll look again tomorrow and see if I can't crimp them down or find the screw. The lights are in another location I am working on.

In addition to the good ideas already posted self drilling Kelly screws through the bars where they meet will ensure your can never moves.

Your not an idiot. An idiot is someone who's too proud to admit they don't know something or thinks there's nothing left to learn. In a trade like electrical especially in the industrial commercial end there's such a large scope of work that even after a lifetime there's always something even the pros haven't seen. Better to ask if you don't know than it Comming back to bite you on the butt.
