Grounding wire on roof

I am lost as to why they felt the need to bond or ground the WH. Grounding and bonding should have already been in place. If they needed to connect the solar array I would have hoped they could have found a way to connect to the GES.

Grounding wire on roof

Does this go to the water main or along with the water heater to meet code?

Grounding wire on roof

If it goes to the water main its required but they should have found a better way of doing it.

Me too. What I would really like to know is what kind of connector is used where that goes through the roof. If I was the OP I would be calling them back and telling them you did not approve the holes in the roof

Grounding wire on roof

Why didnt they just run it from attic to attic ,then fire caulk the 1/4" hole they would have needed to run it through?

so just install a jumper between the two, if they are even isolated from each other.... I still see no need to run a bond wire to the water heater, obviously, they have no clue either....
