GFI question
I have a circuit in my house that is wired in such a way that 1 GFI outlet in the bathroom protects multiple standard outlets downstream in another bathroom and one outlet in the garage. My question is can I replace the standard outlets that are downstream with GFI receptacles as well, or is this pointless? If I do replace the downstream outlets with GFI outlets will it affect the functionability of the circuit as it is now?
Thanks. |
Yes you can, but is pointless. It would not affect it at all.
An installation like this would violate code nowadays...bathrooms are supposed to be dedicated and 20 amp. I would only go to rewiring if you had problems with hair dryers, heavy loads, etc. |

Definately a waste of time and money, all for no benefit at all.
