gfi problems

put in a pole lamp and gfi receptacle with on and off switch. after heavy rain and wind it went out and would not reset. this has happened 3 times with 3 switches. everytime I hooked up a new switch it works for days, weeks, months (or until the next heavy rain and wind. the gfi yellow light in on and when I test the receptacle it is showing electric current but noting will work when plugged into it. any thoughts

gfi problems

Moisture is building up somewhere, and providing a leakage path to earth
which trips the gfci.
Some locations are just too wet for electricity,
And outdoor fittings suffer from moisture build up.
Totally sealed enclosers suffer badly from this sometimes.
If you cant find how or where the water gets in,
then you might not be able to have one there!
