GFI outlet tripping?

I have a new outlet (6 mo. old) that we had put in for our dryer. I believe it is a GFI outlet as it has the two little buttons in the middle. The outlet has been tripping when using the dryer. It doesn't happen every time, but enough to be annoying when the dryer cuts out in the middle of a cycle.

Is this an issue with the outlet, or dryer? The dryer is rather old and I'm worried there may be an issue with it, rather than the outlet itself. Any advice?

Try another GFI, and also make sure that it is rated for the load that is being plugged into it. If the GFCI is tripping still after replacing, then have the appliance checked out.
