gfci tripped by waffle iron

I tried to use my waffle iron but its shutting off all of my gfci outlets in my kitchen, everything else that i plug in to the same outlet works fine, does this just mean that the waffle iron is fried? i havent used it in a few years but it worked just fine then. thanks

Your waffle iron probably has a short to the case from a wire that has had the insulaton rubbed or worn. If it is tripping the GFCI and not the breaker is the telltale sign.
