GFCI Outlets Needed

I have an older house that does not have any GFCI outlets. Is there any particular brand or model that is better, or should I just goes buy the Lowes or Home Depot stocked item?

And is this as simple as replacing the existing outlet, or is there something else that also needs to be done?

Any of the major brands should be fine.

You will need to determine the incoming power from the outgoing power if you wish downstream protection to other receptacles. The incoming power goes to the LINE terminals.
