Generator Transfer Switch
I installed a 30 amp Gen Tran Switch on a Square D Homeline panel. I read somewhere that I would not be able to turn on the arc fault circuits. Wondering why this is or if it is true. Thanks.

I have never heard this and have no logical reason to believe it to be so. Not saying it ain't true but you would have to have some irrefutable evidence in hand before I believe it. Breakers are not picky as to where the juice comes from just that it does not arc down stream of them.

I have not heard that as well but really basically if you have proper voltage range and HZ { this is kinda critical for some items to function properly } and it should have no issue running on generator mode.

So if you run the generator run thru the convental breaker first to make sure you have proper voltage and HZ then kick on the AFCI breakers I am pretty sure it should not have a major issue with supply side however some generators can produce dirty electrical source it may kick out the AFCI or GFCI so check it out before you have actual power failure and find out in hard way so do it asap.
