Generator Issue

So just to be sure, my new receptacle has the original two hots from the old 240v receptacle, a neutral from one of the 110s and the original ground from the old 240v receptacle goes on the ground lug of the new receptacle? Thx for your patience.

The two hots get reused, no changes.

Be sure to remove that jumper.

The problem is I don't know where the wires physically connect in your generator.

Run a new neutral from the L14-20r to your 120 volt receptacles - neutral.
Run a new ground from the L14-20r to a clean frame ground.

On the existing 6-15r, if the ground wire is white, then you could reuse it for your new neutral. Make sure it has continuity to the existing neutrals. I wouldn't use it if it is green though (confusing). If you have any questions just run the new neutral.

Check everything with your meter before you actually connect to the house.

Check the attachment out. It shows the wiring changes.

Good luck.
