GE SunSmart Timer 15312 Install
I am replacing an Intermatic timer with the subject timer. I've installed the timer per the instructions and cannot get power to the device. Wired per the instructions: black house to black timer, white house to white timer, copper house ground to green timer, red house jumper from red/black bundle (three lamps) to blue timer, capped red as unused. Single pole installation. One switch, three exterior coach lamps. Purchased second identical unit and installed with same results. Did I wire incorrectly?

If the white was connected to the switch it was a hot wire and not a neutral. I suspect your switch requires a neutral that may not exist in your switch box.

The Intermatic timer replaced had only black, blue, & red - black house to black timer, red house jumper to blue timer, and red timer capped. On my first install of the GE unit, I left white timer capped, but with same results. House constructed 1989, would it not have black/hot, white/neutral, green(copper)/ground wiring as code?

Why does this topic sound familiar. Hmmn

See link in the above post for wiring diagrams.

Swapped the timers blue and black inputs from the house and got power to the device. Now onto programming.
