I'm trying to install a GE Sunsmart Digital Timer on a 3-way installation and have done as follows:
Installing the timer on the line side:
Black line wire to black wire on timer
Black load wire to blue wire on timer
Red traveler wire to red wire on timer
White wire on timer to bundle of white wires in the back of the switch box
Green wire on timer to bundle of bare ground wires in the back of the box
For the 3-way switch on the load side:
Removed wire from common terminal on the switch and removed black load wire from switch. Connected those two wires to the jumper wire provided with the timer with a wire nut and connected the other end of the jumper to the common terminal on the switch.
Left the red traveler wire connected as is on the back of the switch.
This was all done according to the installation instructions but when I turn the breaker back on and test the switches the lights just flash on and off continuously. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
