GE SmartConnect Panel

Hi all,

My new place came with a GE Smart Connect panel in the living room closet that includes some outlets, cat5 to the upstairs, and a spare cable jack, for home networking. It also has a terminal block for phone service which I am pretty sure goes to the one phone jack in the house.

My questions are: 1) how can I tell if my suspicions are correct, and this terminal block does indeed connect to the phone jack in my kitchen?

and 2) If I have a working jack on the back of my router in this panel, and I wanted to connect it to the terminal block and then plug my phone in in the kitchen, how would I go about it?

Thanks in advance!

Alex

With no ringing signal, there'd be ~50 vdc on two of the terminals, which drops considerably when the kitchen phone is off the hook.
