GE Smart Digital Timer Will Not Work Manually

Hi,

I have two wall switches controlling the same set of lights in my ceiling. I purchased a GE Smart Digital Timer to install in place of one of the switches so that I can bring the lights on to a programed schedule.

Installed the timer as in the the instructions: Red to Red, Black to Black, White to White, and Green to Green. Restored power. Toggling the front switch on the timer will not turn on the ceiling lights. I did hear a click from the timer and could see the on/off indicator toggle on the display. Also, changed the position of the other switch. Still can not get the lights to toggle on and off with the switch on the timer.

What is it that I am missing?

Don

Hi Marc,

Thanks for responding.

The model number is 15071. At the bottom of the packaging it says Single Pole. Common has a dark colored screw. The white wire was connected to this screw.

Ok that make sense the single pole timer will not work with three way set up due you have both switch control the luminaires.

That timer you do denfitly need netural in there to get the timer to function properly and I really doubt you have netural in there unless you have power feed at the first three way switch then go to next three way switch then yeah a good chance you will have netural there.

But any other fashon no it will not work.

Merci,
Marc
