garbage disposal, dishwasher insullation


how do I hook up garbage disposal and dishwasher the are both wired with out an outlet would like to plase them on an outlet

Nothing keeps you from attaching a piece of 14-2 Romex cable to the appliance junction box, attaching a plug to the other end, and plugging in the appliance to the receptacle under the kitchen sink.

But it would be better to wire it in directly. Remove the receptacle and substitute a blank outlet box cover with a single round hole in it into which you put a cable nipple to run the Romex cable through.

Let me add one more comment on this one some case you may have switched receptale which it will be one part of the receptale is hot all the time while other one is switched recetpale { that useally used for garbage dispoal }

If you see black and white et RED if red then good possiblty it is a switched conductor so if you do let us know right away.

Unless the circuit is #12 wire.

It would be better to buy a properly rated appliance cord with a molded plug
