My Stanley garage door opener has stopped responding to the remote. The door continues to operate fine with the wall pushbutton. The LED light on the remote will light when I push the button on the remote, so I believe the battery is good (I've recharged it also). The antenna on the opener is visible outside of the case. Any thoughts as to the problem?
The remote.
You can get universal replacements at some hardware stores, and since it is a transmitter the components are under more stress than the receiver mounted in the opener housing.
On occasion, I have found that some garage door units "forget" the programmed remotes associated with them.
So, you will have to "add" your remote's code to your receiver.
With Stanley, there should be a smart/learn button on the unit. Press and release that button to activate the learning function. Then press the button on your remote. The lights on your opener should flash a couple of times to indicate that it has "learned" your remote's code.
Now try your remote again. It should work after proper programming.
