Garage door issues

Our garage door intermittently stops working. We have checked batteries, sensors and even fuse box. If we unplug and plug back in it will work for a time or two and then stop and we have to repeat. any ideas of what may be the problem?

maybe check the safety sensors (light beam across door a few inches off the floor) to ensure they are pointed to each other and the lens is relatively clean. This would stop the door from closing but it would open fine.

If you can reliably induce the symptom you have a chance of fixing it.
