Furnace won't come on unless..

Help!!This is my first visit to the chatroom. I have an old electric furnace and a wire to a little round looking relay melted off? The blower goes off also unless I tap this little relay. It comes on about 15 secs after I tap it. How do I find a new one? Is this a time delay relay?

Start with the make and model of the furnace. Then go the furnace manufacturer site.

Not a time delay relay, just a defective one. It's an old trick to "tap" on a relay to get it to open/close, but yours is toast.

Replace the relay unless you know how to check and see if indeed the relay is being called upon to operate? Meaning, is the relay coil receiving power to energize it. If it is receiving power to the relay coil and it does not operate, it is the relay.
