Furnace switch location

Hi Folks,

Just wondering if there is code requirement for the distance between the furnace and furnace switch. As long as the switch is located between the furnace and room exit, is that sufficient? If I were to move it beside the furnace (approx 2 ft away) would that pass inspection?

Furnace switch location

Place it on the side of the furnace. That way, the tech does not have to search all over for it.

Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Ren: Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool! Stimpy: So what'll happen? Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?
