Furnace power drop

How would I go about doing this? I assume I would install a junction at the joists and drop flexible metallic conduit to the furnace. I would ground the box and at the furnace. Wouldn't I need to secure the flex conduit to something if the drop is about 6ft?

Furnace power drop

A strap on the unit should be sufficient, just not on an access door.

I usually attach to the plenum with a clamp as it drops past it, and just above the handy box itself.
