fridge outlet

redoing kitchen- Fridge now going on other wall in kitchen.
Question 1: Does fridge outlet need to be located higher on wall then a standard outlet?
Question 2: It should be on it's on line directly back to the panel correct?

Right now (where the new fridge is going) there is a standard outlet in the wall ( like 14" off ground)- it's wired in with other outlets but since the cutout it there- do I just rewire the existing one running a dedicated line back to the box- or just install a new one higher on the wall?

Why does it have to be moved?

wasn't sure if the outlet needs to be higher on the wall or not

It doesn't have to be, but you may find it more convenient higher up,

I like it about counter top level. It is important to understand that remodling of a kitchen requires that it meets the current electrical code that your jurisdiction has adopted. This is a reasonably good link to those requriements ...
