Fluorescent tube to wall socket?

Hi,

I'd like to connect a fluorescent tube to a wall socket. Is it possible? Of course, it'd be one with a ballast and I just want to know if anyone has a guide how to wire the wires from the ballast to a wall plug and if it's that simple? Thanks!

The ballast should have instructions for where to hook up the power from the plug.

The ballast might have different terminals for different input voltages (120 volts, 277 volts, etc). Be sure you choose the proper terminals.

Note that build-it-yourself light fixtures are not safety rated by organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories even if you used components are are so rated.

Yea.....make sure you use the right color bulb.....and don't put too many in.....the power company will notify the police if a house is using an unusual amount of electricty....
