Hi all , I have five 21 inch flourecent tubes, and I want to know if its ok to screw then directly to the ceiling, or do they have to hang on a chain?

No, I don't think so, i think if you try to screw the tubes to the ceiling they will break into very small pieces.

Jokeing aside, you can screw the fixture right to the wall, done many times myself.

ok, I wasnt sure cause i see most flourecent tube fixtures hanging from chains. I thought maybe the ballast would become warm or something to that effect. thanks for the reply.
