floating vanity lighting

Remodeling a small hall bath with a floating vanity and wanted to put lighting underneath it.

Since its a base cabinet, Im not sure i want the brightness of a standard "under cabinet" light like you would put in your kitchen...just more of a soft glow to highlight the vanity. I guess i could put a dimmer on it, but Id rather not have the extra hardware since we'd never use it once its set.

Any suggestions as far as products that would be a good choice?

Thanks

How about rope lighting?

not yet...its all in shipping....

basically its a 31" rectangular floating vanity - approx 16" off the ground. The sides are 18" deep, so the 3 side perimeter is about 60" of lighting i figure. I would prefer a hard wired solution vs having a receptacle installed.

we've spent a pretty good amount on this bathroom. Originally i was thinking rope lighting as well, but wasnt sure if a) you could hardwire rope lighting or b)there are better/higher quality options.

small floating vantity, limited space, dont really want a receptacle sitting underneath the sink if i dont have to.

Also, not technically against code, but not a good idea IMO...GFCI or not.
