firex smoke alarm problem?

L have a firex 120-1072b alarm system in my house. I unhooked one in the basement to replace with a cO2 one and found out it wouldn't be compatable with the rest of system so I tried to put original unit back up and when i did it set all units in house off. what happened? left it off to keep peace in house!

alot of times the alarms will set off when you apply power to them. Just let it go for a minute and see what happens. It should stop in a minute. If not the unit you removed might have been damaged.

The smoke alarms should be interconnected so that when one goes off you receive the alarm all over the house. Like someone else applying power may cause a temporary alarm.

When you shut off the alarm in one, the other interconnected ones should stop - but maybe not immediatly, could take a minute or two.

If you just let it go, the one that initiated the alarm should stop after a few minutes on it's own - and then the others will stop as well withing a couple three minutes.
