Is it possible to combine a 240v fan forced heater with a 240v baseboard on the same circuit? (This is assuming 20amp 240v circuit with 12/2 wire, and 2000w + 750w = 2750w total for both heaters).
If so, can both operate using their own separate wall mounted thermostats? The baseboard would be going in a small hallway so technically it is in a separate room from the fan forced heater (hence the need for 2 separate thermostats).
It should work. I got 11ish amps total, let me know if my math is skewed. You can do that if there isn't anything on the units that say not to, and using a junction box to make a splice is also legal. You'd need to mount another box for the new t-stat, of course.
Just out of curiosity, how hard would it be to run another wire for a separate circuit? You're going to be putting a new junction box in anyhow, and you can get a 48" flex drill from Harbor Freight for $7 to run through the wall and into the basement, if it's a first story install. Probably easier than trying it your way if it is. (Note: Harbor Freight tools are guaranteed to break, and may not last through the end of one job.)
