extension cord plug ?

I am looking at using a generator transfer switch that has a L14-30 connection. My generator is a L14-20. I am looking at making a 20' cord out of 10-4 so and putting a 20 amp male(generator end) and 30 amp(switch end) Any problem with this?

Thanks

Having two male plugs can be very dangerous and is not allowed. Can't you wire it in hard to the switch?

I think you misunderstood.I will be putting a male 20 amp plug and a female 30 amp plug. The switch is set up for a 30 amp 7500 watts max.My generator is only 5kw and has a 20 amp receptacle.I don't think it will be an issue since the gen is fused at 20 amps and the so cord and both plugs are 4 wire.I just wanted some more qualified opinions.
