Do you already have a fan in place that you are replacing? You need to provide more details, give the whole picture.

What did this switch used to control? You are going to have to run a cable from the switch location to the fan.

It's very hard to help when you don't give all the details from the start.

Please provide the entire picture as to what you are trying to change.

Are there any white wires in the switch box not attached to the switch?

The existing switch is to light above medicine cabinet. It has no white wires only 1 black wire to bottom and top of switch. I ran a 14-2 w/ground from fan to switch box. how do i connect them

Without a neutral in the switch box you will not be able to have all the wires you need for the circuit.

Without a neutral connection at the switch,
you can not run all the wires from there,
But if the fan is not to far away from the light,
then you might be able to run the wires from there,
As there will be a neutral at the light.
