Exhaust fan and light in the ceiling??

I want this to be put in the ceiling of my kitchen . Do people do that? Also with 2 different switches . thanks

do I call a electrian for that so it can be vented outside and can it be vented out the soffitt ?

I don't know what the mechanical code calls for but a ceiling mounted fan in the kitchen would hardly pull any air from the stove to vent the odors and steam outside.
