Emerson electric motor wiring, is it dual votage? 110/220
Can I hook it up to just 110 v. I have the wiring diagram, it looks some what like this.
for tthe 110 side purp-L1,then, brown and orange, then blue,wt, and red for 220 purp-L1,then brown insulate, then, wht and orange, then blue and red together |
If the data plate indicates 110/220, then yes, you can operate it with 110.
For those of you who will soon be posting about 120/240 versus 110/220, save it. |
This motor can indeed be run on either voltage.
Given the choice, I'd run it on 230. All dual voltage single phase motors will yield better performance and lower operating temperature when supplied with the higher voltage. Also, is there a black wire somewhere in that connection scheme? Like maybe spliced in with the orange/brown or orange/white? If so, the shaft will turn CCW when viewing the back of the motor. To get it to turn CW, swap the black and red. Rob |
