Welcome to DIY !!!! Thank you so much for your first post !!! With the vast amount of details you have included I think I may be able to help !!! Do you have a cat ??!! If so, the reason is because the static electricity in their paws are creating an overloaded circuit that your ceiling fan is sensing when on medium. Unless your fan is on high, if that were the case then it is because your clock radio is dialed into 104.8!! Good luck and I hope this helps as I know it did others with the same problem. !!

What do you have plugged into that circuit? Are there any surge-protected power strips? Is the breaker an Arc-fault type?

Need more info to help you on this ....

My bet is mice, and frayed or loose wire. Mice usually stick to a pretty consistent schedule.

We do get a little punchy around here, but in general we are harmless. On the other hand electricity is not harmless. Some basic information like where are you located, age of the house/wiring, list any recent changes to your electrical. Anything else different about the MB, such as do you have a room air conditioner or room fan?

Brainstorm. I like to sing the Sesame Street song while I brainstorm:
One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn`t belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

is it when your SO comes in after finally getting the kids to bed? I know that has sucked the electricity out of our MB more than once.

Tell your neighbor to quit flipping off the mystery switch in their house/apt/condo.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?
